There are many important things to remember when considering taking your children on a skiing holiday.
Our Ski Blanc Chalet Holidays in Meribel really suit family groups.
The
spacious living areas lend themselves to spending time together or apart, as the
mood takes you. Imagine yourself relaxing
in the terrace hot tub whilst the children have plenty of room to play inside. A convenient location is essential when
skiing with children. Our chalets are
situated just minutes from the bubble lift. This takes you straight to the
heart of the three valleys ski area.
Ski lockers are available at the foot of
the ski slopes. You don’t even have to carry
the children’s skis. Plus, the extra
bonus of boot driers will give you nice warm feet each morning -
particularly important for tiny toes.

Food - Can you be sure they will be happy with the chalet food?
We understand how crucial it is to have the right food for your family on a skiing holiday. Little people can have extraordinarily large appetites after a day out in the mountains. Let us know in advance what type of meals your children prefer. You can choose to have an earlier family friendly dinner all together, or a separate tea-time for the children and dinner for the adults later. Simply let us know what will suit your family best.
Is Meribel a child-friendly ski resort?
Meribel is a great destination for family ski
holidays and has been 'awarded' family friendly status.
The beautiful
Altiport beginners’ area has plenty of
generous, easy green runs. You can also enjoy some of the most
impressive views in the valley. The beginners park has areas designed
specifically to entertain children. For example, they can
follow the
Piste Animal, a forest
trail on skis. Watch their delight as they discover life-size examples of local wildlife from the Alpine Squirrel
Écureuil
to the Golden Eagle Aigle.
Ski Lessons in Meribel, Three Valleys, France - How to decide ski school to trust?
One of the best things about staying in Meribel with children are the brilliant British Ski Schools. We wholeheartedly recommend our two favourites Oxygene and Parallel Lines. Every season, Ski Blanc’s smaller guests rave about adventures they have enjoyed with their instructors. Parents are thrilled with their little ones progress in just one week! The medal on the last day is just the cherry on the cake.
Activities - How will you keep your little ones entertained?
For après-ski activities, Meribel is second to none. The Olympic centre has superb facilities including a heated pool with a special area for toddlers and a water slide for children over 6. The Ice Skating rink is open each afternoon. They have little trolleys to help little tots stay on their feet and music to entertain older children. The busy bowling alley has a lively atmosphere for family contests, and all the amusement delights from air hockey to bike simulators. During the school holiday weeks seasonal events are organised by the resort. Santa visits on Christmas Eve to the sound of the local children singing English and French carols. There are Fireworks for New Year, and Torch Lit descents from the ski instructors with plenty of mulled wine to keep off the chill. When the weather warms up later in the season, you and the children can choose from several Live Music venues on the Sunny Terraces of Meribel Centre. Our shuttle bus service makes getting home after your activities a breeze.
Childcare - What is on offer?
The right childcare is an important consideration especially if you are travelling with a baby or toddler who is too young for ski school. Many Ski Blanc guests take advantage of our large ski chalets to holiday with another family or their own extended family, splitting ski time and childcare within the party. However, Meribel has several companies that specialise in the British market for Private Nannies. There is also a Meribel crèche situated right at the bottom of the ski slopes. Their facilities are ideal with plenty of room for indoor activities and a ‘snow garden’ to enjoy as well.
