If skiing has been on your bucket list, then it’s time to not just think about it but book it. Despite the fact that many of us Britain’s are holding those purse strings tight, trying to get value for money and booking late should never compromise the destination. Especially when it comes to skiing, finding the right resort for your needs is essential to enjoying your holiday.

Méribel lies in the Les Allues Valley at the centre of the world’s largest ski area, les Trois Vallees, giving access to over 600km ofpiste and unlimited off-piste.They form one of the most popular resorts for skiers from the UK. However it’s not just the fantastic skiing that is on offer here, the attractive chalet style architecture has contained the charm of the Alpine region and has a wonderful selection of apres-ski bars and great restaurants. There is also a bi-weekly market that oozes with charm and tradition in the town centre.

Meribel is made up of different quarters, there is a lot to offer other than the liveliness of the town centre. The hamlet Mussillon is about a 10 minute walk from the centre and is home to the infamous Dick’s TeaBar, now known as 'O' Sullivans. Dick Yates-Smith opened the venue in 1979 and by the mid 80's he had turned the one time game hall into an infamous celebrity hang out for the winter jet setters. Then you have Belvedere which is pretty upmarket and Altiport that is more tranquil. So there is something to offer everyone in this stunning area of France. So get booking and tick a holiday of a lifetime off that bucket list.
