I can sincerely predict that with only days to go until the world premiere of the new James Bond movie Spectre that skiing and the resorts across Europe are going to become jam packed with apprentice skiers, wanting to show off their bond like swivels.

I can sincerely predict that with the world premiere of the new James Bond movie Spectre that skiing and the resorts across Europe are going to become jam packed with apprentice skiers, wanting to show off their bond like swivels. The big action scenes are pretty impressive and Bond back in the mountains, film number 24, is going to get everyone running to purchase their après ski outfits.

Adrenaline fuelled scenes of bullet dodging and high octane chases have filled the Bond lovers with delight over the years. But however much we stare in awe at the screen, the reality for us mere mortals is slightly different. Fitness is key and obviously in reality there are no bullets to swerve, but nevertheless it’s a sport that is so powerful and exciting that a little bit of 007 can seep out of the best of us.

So how do you prepare for those hallowed slopes? Get squatting and exercising like crazy. The black runs will take their toll on your mind, body and spirit if you or your fellow travellers are not fit enough to cope. Realistically, start exercising, if you don’t already then do so at least 6 months before you jump on board the plane. Regular daily exercise should raise your heart rate and give you strength. Being strong is also important, without that strength in your legs, it will be hard getting both upand down the slopes. Squats, lunges and weight lifting will all help. Talk to a trainer for the best types of exercise to do, and get yourself 007 savvy.
