There really is no other sport comparable with skiing, the thrill of the speed and the adrenalin it offers is like no other. However you need to be able to ski properly to achieve these unbeatable thrills.

There really is no other sport comparable with skiing, the thrill of the speed and the adrenalin it offers is like no other. However you need to be able to ski properly to achieve these unbeatable thrills. It doesn’t matter how old you, are a few lessons before hand and a decent instructor on piste will have you sashaying down those mountains James Bond style in no time.

The only way is down, but you need to find your legs first. Knowing how to shift your weight and position as well as control your speed is not as easy as it looks on Ski Sunday, those black runs and mogul fields will only come with time, dedication and practice.

  • Decent Skis.
  • This really is a must, when you are a beginner, shorter, wider and flexible skis are the best. Hiring skis and boots to fit them is a must first time round. Make sure that they are not deeply scratched or have holes in the hard plastic ski base underneath. Make sure that the metal edges are at the right angle, it’s this edge that gives you controlon the snow.
  • Ski boots.
  • When you hire ski boots, do keep trying on different pairs until you get the right fit. Make sure you can bend your knees and lift each heel off the ground. Make sure your foot doesn’t move to the front or the back of the boot. Because your feet control the skis they need to be as comfortable as possible, any movement will reduce control and make your feet sore over the course of the day.
