  • What to Pack Before Your Ski Holiday This Winter - Clothing

It’s an exciting prospect, travelling to a ski resort for your winter holidays. It’s what we love more than anything here at Ski Blanc. If it’s your first time or you’re a veteran, it always pays to remember the essentials before you pack your suitcase. You don’t want to miss out on a vital bit of kit that could make all the difference to your enjoyment. There are a few essentials, so we’ve split it into two, your clothing requirements, and then equipment. Take heed, and enjoy the slopes!

Thermal Clothing – Vital to create that base layer of clothing that keeps you warm when you’re outside. Always remember to avoid clothing made of cotton as your base layer.

Layer Up – Bring with you a number of layers to ensure you are warm. You can always remove layers if you are too warm, but be aware of how difficult it is to warm up when you are outside on the snow.

Gloves – Choose between mittens and gloves, but despite there being a wide range of high-tech gloves on the market, always choose yours based on comfort as you’ll be wearing them for a long time.

Hats and Socks – Hide your helmet hair with big and comfortable hats; thermal socks are less about the look and more about saving your toes from the cold!

Snow Boots – You’ll need sturdy boots that can deal with the icy slopes, slush and everything else a winter resort can throw at you. Make sure they are warm and have a good grip.

Sun Cream and Lip Balm – The higher the altitude, the stronger the sun. Take strong sun cream with you to protect your skin and lip balm and moisturiser to stop your lips from cracking.

If you’ve got your cases packed and are ready to hit the slopes, or the bars of Meribel, book now with Ski Blanc. We have the great quality chalets available in a town that offers everything you are looking for from a ski resort. We look forward to helping you book the winter holiday of your dreams.

What our customers say:

Now that Christmas is over I can finally find time to drop you a quick email. We had such a lovely week staying in the chalet L'Erine, our hosts took great care of us and the food was always delicious. We are already talking about coming back!
