If I get the Eurostar from the UK what time can we get into the chalet and where can we leave our luggage? Can we store our luggage in the chalet on the following Saturday? Is there anywhere to have showers after skiing?

The chalet will be available for you to come in and have a cup of tea, get changed etc from 9am. We will then bring your lift passes to the chalet so that you can maximize your skiing time and get out skiing on that first Saturday. You are able to change and store your luggage in the chalet. On the following Saturday you can also store your luggage in the chalet. You can then come back and pick them up before your departure. We just ask that you vacate your rooms by 9.30/10am so that the chalet staff can start their change over day and get the linen off the beds ready to go off to the laundry. At the Chaudanne in Meribel, the Olympic centre has a swimming pool and facilities to have a shower. They also hire towels for a small fee.

The Location

How far are the chalets from the ski slopes?

The Olympe bubble lift is practically right outside the chalets, (2-5 mins walk). The bubble lift takes exactly 15 mins to the central lift station (La Chaudanne) in Meribel where all the lifts fan out from and you then have direct access to the Meribel slopes and 3 valleys skiing

Will we have to walk in my ski boots and carry the equipment?

It's a very short (downhill) walk to the bubble lift, but many of our guests take up the option of reserving a locker at the foot of the slopes and wander down in their apres ski boots. This is also a good choice for those planning to stay up in Meribel town for shopping or to sample the Meribel apres ski party

Can we ski back to the chalet?

Yes, there is a run back to the village, and whilst very picturesque it is a very long run to do at the end of the day as it is a long descent and snow dependent at the lower end, certainly you can normally always ski down to the lift station just above Les Allues at Raffort.

If we stay with you in Meribel les Allues, can we still enjoy all the facilities in the centre of the main Meribel ski resort?

It is very easy to travel between Meribel centre and Meribel Les Allues during the day and evening. In conjunction with the bubble.
The Meribus runs from 07:30 to half past midnight. In addition, in the evening time if you want to head up to Meribel centre for après ski we offer a courtesy minibus service too, the drive is 7mins.

Does Meribel Les Allues have any nightlife?

Yes it does. La Tsaretta is a lively local bar in Les Allues which is open from 5pm until 1am each night and hosts British bands and themed nights throughout the week. The 4 village restaurants each have a ‘locals’ bar.

Do we need to book a restaurant before coming on holiday for the chalet staffs night off?

It will be fine to book a restaurant as soon as you arrive for your night off. Your chalet staff will be able to recommend somewhere to dine out on their night off. See our Apres Ski guide for places to dine out in Les Allues.

  • Lovely chalet and fantastic location – just a minute to the main lift . Wonderful area to ski – we have been to Meribel quite a few times now and it never disappoints. Food delicious and facilities very good.

Jenny Sanders, 09 Mar 2019, Chalet L'Erine, Meribel

  • We all had an excellent time in Chalet Foehn. It was lovely; cosy, homely and providing everything we needed. The resort was great. This was my first visit to Meribel and I'm impressed with the number and variety of the runs available over the three valleys. We managed to ski everyday albeit not quite all day every day. Particularly; I'd like to thank Jesse and Fiona, our hosts. They both looked after us brilliantly. The food was delicious, the packed lunches just right and the cakes wonderful. I am still shocked how nice vegan brownies can be!

Nick Leigh, 25 Mar 2019 Chalet Foehn, Meribel

  • I can safely say that all 3 families, had an absolutely fantastic holiday from the time we arrived at the chalet to when we left. From the great customer service, that Janey afforded us while organising the holiday, to the face to face contact with you all while there. We have to make a very special mention to TJ and Abby who made our stay extra special and who were fabulous chalet hosts. They make the perfect team, both friendly and professional, ensuring that each and every one of us was catered for…which is quite a task given we had quite a few dietary requirements! Their food was excellent….the children deciding to eat with us rather than eating a separate menu is testimony to that!
